Project Overview

The application is divided into 3 modules

1.0 Mobile: This is the most interesting part of the application. Merchandisers are able to take photo from their Blackberry mobile and can load as normal or exception. They can even access SOH add answer client.

2.0 Photo Online:
It is basically a photo viewing application. It is a reporting interface for customer to view store schedules, stores exceptions. Search by store or photo through Google maps or thumbnails (includes search by category, region, exception and many more combinations and permutations).

Stores can be searched through the Map View and the info about exception and comments can be retrieved.



On Thumbnail view page information about the buckets can be retrieved. The comments can also be seen. Media can be deleted, mailed and even printed.



The schedule of a merchandiser can be retrieved from this page. The information about his calls, travel distance, travel time etc. can be viewed.



The information bucket can be retrieved from this page. Comments can be added, deleted. Other functionalities are also provided on this page.



3.0 Admin: The key activities are to store master information for the customers, exception recording functionality, scheduling tool and the most important is to generate reports.

The information about the Retailer is added from this page.



User access rights can also be edited



Merchandiser call schedule can be created, edited and deleted. Report can be also generated regarding a call schedule.



Information about the info can also be viewed, edited and deleted.

Challenges
To implement the Geo tagging feature with this black berry compatible product is challenging task of this application.
Solution
The base for Geo tagging is positions. Position is derived from the global positioning system, and based on a latitude/longitude-coordinate system that presents each location on the earth in a coordinate spanning from 180° west through 180° east along the Equator and 90° north through 90° south along the prime meridian.
